BOOTSTRAP STUDIO VS WEBFLOW CODEAs you mentioned you like how clean the code is and for someone who has done mostly from scratch coding that is great to hear. BOOTSTRAP STUDIO VS WEBFLOW PLUSI used to use Muse and BC, plus write some code for UI/UX to get me started, but now with the intro to e-com and Grid there are so many avenues that designers/developers can take away from Webflow. I will come out and say it, I prefer to use Webflow for all of my projects. Great post u/Mike, No you are not missing anything and to answer your question, YES, you should be using apps/sites like Webflow to start your code. So, am I missing anything? Why shouldn't I use apps like Webflow?Įdit: if you’re gonna downvote, I’m interested to hear why. Plus it's way faster if I want to make any changes before exporting, and clients/employer can see a live version to have a more realistic view of the project faster (and before I spend so much time developing). And the code quality isn't bad at all from what I can tell, especially if you're careful with your element hierarchy and CSS naming structure. What normally would have taken me a week is done in a couple of days. When I'm close to finished, I'll export the code and finish on my local machine– clean up the HTML and CSS a bit to my liking, hook it up with gulp to run tasks, etc. I've created a few sites in Webflow and did most of the work there and found that my time was reduced dramatically. Complex projects don't have a fast turnaround. The problem is the time that's associated with it. I can create almost anything in a text editor without too much issue. My guess is that it suits a startup landing page or a portfolio website.I've been a designer/frontend guy for about 7 years and would consider myself advanced level. One thing to bear in mind, I have never tried this for enterprise. Once you are done, you will be able to connect up to five websites designed with Bootstrap Studio and 5 domains! BOOTSTRAP STUDIO VS WEBFLOW HOW TOThis part of the Bootstrap Studio Documentation explains how to do it in more detail. Yes, not as straightforward as publishing a site using Wix, but it's worth it for $29. Only after that, your website will be live. Then, you will have to connect that domain to CloudFlare. Let's take a look at web hostingįirst, you will have to purchase your domain name from a registrar. Plus, if your developer cares about reputation, the exported code will result in a highly branded naming convention that makes it easily identifiable as a product developed in Webflow. I believe even the most knowledgeable developer does not usually bother with learning Webflow's JS class library but knows how to use Bootstrap instead. Let's take Webflow, a hugely popular and successful website builder, the problem with it is that instead of exporting your code using a well-established framework like Bootstrap, Webflow uses its own responsive JS class library. The exported code is clean and semantic HTML, unlike other platforms that also allow you to export your code. Handing off your work to a developer is a piece of cake.
